Aunt Crystal and Aunt Amber

On our way back from Garner every year, we stop in San Marcos and stay the night. Partly to break up the drive home but mostly so we can eat at the Gristmill in Gruene and shop at the outlet mall in San Marcos. Sydney's Aunt Crystal works at the Yankee Candle outlet there, so we surprised her by dropping by. Needless to say she was very excited to see us---well let's be honest---she was excited to see Sydney. After San Marcos, we drove to Katy to stay at my parents house for the night and while we were there, we dropped by Chili's so Sydney's Aunt Amber could wait on us since she was working that night. Amber was thrilled to see Sydney as well and Sydney was excited to get to spend some time with her aunts!

Down by the River

Since Sydney was too young to float the river this year, we just took her down to the edge of the water and let her camp out in a little tent that we brought. As you can tell from the pictures, she didn't really care much about being down there. But since I brought four (yes, four!) bathing suits for her, we had to at least get her near the water while she was wearing them!

Hey there Cuz!

Garner was the first chance for Sydney to get to hang out with her cousins, Coltin (5) and Dustin (2.5). She had a great time smiling at their goofy faces and they both loved holding and talking to her!

Craig's first Father's Day!

While we were on vacation in Garner, Craig celebrated his first Father's Day as a daddy. Sydney gave him a photobook that I made on Shutterfly.com. I've added a link to the photobook so you can take a look at it. I also gave him a book called Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters. Here's some pics I took of him on Father's Day.

Sydney's first vacation!

Phew! We made it through our first trip with Sydney and she was fantastic the whole time! We went to Garner State Park with Craig's family and stayed in a house near the frio river. Craig floated the river a few days while I stayed back and took care of Sydney. We also took her down to the river a couple of times and since she was too little still to get in the water, we set up a tent for her in the shade to hang out in. Every night inside the park, they have a country dance on a pavillion right by the river. Craig and Sydney had their first father/daughter dance while we were there. Most nights, she would just fall asleep since we were there past her bedtime but the times when she was awake she was always in such a great mood! I added a few slide shows to show off some of the pictures we took while we were there. Enjoy!

Love playing on the activity mat!

Katelyn Kouba let Sydney borrow her activity mat and Sydney just LOVES it. It has a star on the top that lights up and plays music and she loves to watch it. It also has a setting for motion, meaning that Sydney has to kick one of the bars of the mat to get the star to light up and play music. Believe it or not, at 2 months old, she totally understands that she has to kick her legs to get the star to light up. It's so fun to watch her on the mat. She also "talks" to the hanging animals! So cute!!

2 months old!

Sydney was 2 months old on June 2nd. I can't believe how quickly she is growing and changing. We had a mini photo shoot at home and she was in such a good mood and so cooperative. She sleeps through the night on some nights (7-8 hours) and that makes mommy very happy! She's smiling a lot and cooing too. At her 2 month checkup she was 11 lbs 5 oz and 22.5 inches long! She also had 5 shots and I think it was harder on me than it was on her.

All smiles!

Sydney smiles all the time now and it brings so much joy to Craig and I! I can't stop taking pictures of her smiles and love when I catch some where she's really excited and shows her gums!
