Garner State Park 2008

We are back from another great vacation to Garner State Park. Last year, Sydney was only 2 months old and I was still nursing so it was a completely different vacation this time around! For those that don't know, we go every year to Garner State Park (about 1.5 hours SW of San Antonio) with Craig's family (and friends). We rent a house and float the river and play games and read and relax and make homemade butterfinger icecream EVERY NIGHT!! (and somehow I didn't gain a pound...don't know how that happened!) :) There is also a dance inside the park every night and Sydney had so much fun running around. We had such a great time and are already looking forward to going again next year!

Oops...mommy forgot an extra outfit!

When I went to pick up Sydney from daycare today, she was sporting this fabulous outfit. A "too-small" Primrose t-shirt (with her belly hanging out) and pink pants with white snowmen on them. She had a little accident at school today so they needed to change her but apparently I didn't have an extra outfit there for her. Needless to say, we did NOT run any errands after daycare today!

Backyard fun part 2

Sydney and I play in the backyard almost everyday when I get home from work. The other day, I thought I would water the plants while I was out there. The next thing I know, Sydney walks straight through the stream of water (on purpose of course) and she thought that was so funny. So I let her keep doing it--even though she was fully clothed. Here's some pics from the aftermath...she was such a mess!
Mom, I think I need a bath...

Backyard fun!

One of our favorite things about the new house is the backyard. Not only is it beautiful but we enjoy spending time out there with Sydney and Jackson (our dog).

Sydney's table and chairs

She just goes from chair to chair to chair (she also has that play kitchen in the background)

Jackson wanting someone to throw the ball for him
I'll play with you Jackson

Aren't those the cutest thighs you have ever seen??!

Finger Painting

So I thought it would be a good idea to let Sydney experiment with some finger paints....not so much. She immediately wanted to eat it and then it ended up being more of a mess than anything else. Maybe she needs to be a little older before we try this again.

Here she is sporting one of daddy's old shirts to use as a smock

Hmmm....I'm not sure about this Okay....maybe this is fun....

Okay...nope...I don't like this

No, she didn't write this herself

Then and Now

As we were packing up Sydney's room, I ran across some of her newborn stuff. I can't believe she was that tiny. Here's are some then and now pics.

The HOUSE!!!

As you can see, I'm a bit behind on posting to the blog. It's for a lot of reasons but mostly because we have been so busy buying a new house, packing, moving, & unpacking. Well we finally made the move last weekend (after being in an apartment for almost 5 years), and we are LOVING it!!! We both look forward to driving up to our new house each day after work. There are so many great things about it but I'll explain through pictures.
The front yard...gorgeous landscaping and giant trees!
The backyard...also beautifully landscaped, big, new fence and came with the swing set!

The kitchen. Oh how I love this kitchen. I finally have cabinet space to put all my stuff plus all the appliances are new. I love to cook and now I enjoy it even more in this kitchen.
Breakfast room...this is the seller's table and chairs. The pic I took with our stuff in it didn't turn out as well.

Looking out the breakfast room into the sunroom (another one of my favorite places)

The living room. I love this giant fireplace. I am, however, a little perplexed as to where I'm going to hang our stockings without a mantle....
Guest bathroom...a work in progress
Master bathroom--Craig and I each have separate vanities and closets. In the middle is the shower and toilet. Whoever came up with this setup was a genius!
The sunroom...also a work in progress.
The bedrooms are still in a disaterous state so stayed tuned for those pics.

Last Swim at the Apartment Complex

Over Memorial day weekend, we decided to take Sydney to the pool before we moved out. Now, she's been in the pool before...last summer. She would just sit in her float and relax. Well now with a 14 month old, the pool is a whole new ballgame. She does not want to be confined in your arms at all. I think Craig and I were more exhausted when we left than she was. She did have a BLAST though.
I've got my sunscreen and I'm ready to go!

Still loving my wagon! (Thanks Uncle Josh and Beth!)

Swimming with Daddy is so much fun!

Splashing, splashing, splashing...

Sydney loves being thrown in the air...and I feel much better about it when it's over water.

Swimming sure does make a girl thirsty!

My 27th Birthday

For some reason my birthday hit me kind of hard this year. I turned 27 on May 10th. 27 seems such much older than 26 to me...don't ask me why but it just does. We were in Houston the weekend before my birthday (for the wedding below) so we decided to roll in Mother's Day and my birthday while we were there. My mom got me this very yummy cake and made a fantastic dinner that night.
My mom, me, Sydney

Then, on my real birthday, I went to dinner with some of my friends to (what I think is) the BEST patio in town--Ozona's. They also make this amazing chicken salad. I know what you're thinking...salad? on your birthday? It really is that good.

Byron and Kelly's wedding

We were back in Houston again in April to go to our friend Byron's wedding. Nana and Grandpa took care of Sydney, while Craig and I got to go enjoy ourselves.
