Halloween 2009
This year the girls both dressed up as fairies. We took them to the Fall Festival at church and Sydney had a great time playing all the games. The hardest part of the night was getting her to leave!

A girl and her blanket
Sydney officially has a "lovey". For those that don't know, a lovey is something she really can't live without...it has to be with her when she naps, sleeps, eats, drives in the car, goes to school, goes to church, etc. For Sydney this lovey is a pink blanket. Sydney has a TON of blankets but for whatever reason, THIS blanket is THE blanket. Yesterday when we were out running errands, she asked for her blanket and I didn't see it in the back seat (where I knew it had been). So I asked Craig where it was, he wasn't sure, I wasn't sure...my heart dropped. Seriously, I can't believe I was getting worked up over a possible lost blanket. Thank goodness it was just in between her car seat and the car door which is why I couldn't see it. Disaster averted.

Butternut Ghost and Pink Pumpkin
I got this idea to paint a butternut squash from another blog (Thanks Cindy!) and I couldn't wait to try it with Sydney. It's so simple and turned out great.

We also carved a pumpkin. Well Craig carved the pumpkin...Sydney and I cleaned out the insides. At first she refused to stick her hand in there but once she did she really got into it and wanted to get every last seed out of it. Oh, and she's really really into all things pink right now so I spray painted our pumpkin pink!

Pumpkin Patch
So far we've been to 2 pumpkin patches this year. The first one we went to was right by our house but of course as soon as we got in the car, Harper fell asleep. So I got out with Sydney and my parents but Craig and Harper stayed in the car...which of course meant we had to go to another Pumpkin Patch later so I could get pics of the girls together.

Here's a comparison of Sydney at the Pumpkin Patch for the past 3 years:
6 months old:

18 months old:
2.5 years old:
Here are the other pictures we took that day!
Harper is 4 months old today!
Wow...I definitely feel like I just posted the 3 month update...I can't believe another month has come and gone. Four months old marks the beginning of her being "allowed" to have solid food so we celebrated the day by giving her some rice cereal. I think she actually enjoyed it! She did pretty good with the spoon and didn't even spit that much out. Harper is really enjoying her jumperoo right now and is starting to become more interested in toys. She may also be teething because she chews on everything right now! Here are some new pics of our little cutie!

Donuts with Dad
Sydney's class at school had a Donuts with Dad morning last week. Craig had a great time meeting her teachers and Sydney loved showing off her daddy. Then her class sang the ABC's and The Itsy Bitsy Spider (or Bitty Bitty Spider as Sydney says) - only her two most favorite songs in the world!

The State Fair of Texas
My parents were in town this weekend and what a better thing to do than to take them to the State Fair of Texas. The "weatherman" said that it was supposed to be a sunny cool day but it was not...it was cloudy the whole time which was fine until it poured down rain on us. More on that later. The first thing we did when we got there was go to the Children's Barnyard. We saw a kangaroo climb into it's momma's pouch, piggies eating, baby goats in a tire, some funky looking llama, and a scary ostrich.
Next we ate lunch. Craig got the famous Fletcher's Corny dog but all I could think about was the Fried Butter that was buzzing around the State Fair. So...I stood in line for 20 minutes to get it. But, while I was there I went ahead and picked up Fried Cookie Dough and a Fried Peanut Butter, Jelly and Banana sandwich. Don't worry, I didn't eat all of that all by myself! The consensus was that we all liked the Fried Cookie Dough the best out of everything...but that didn't stop us from eating everything else as well.
Then Sydney and I went on a kid's ride. It was these giant bears that spun around in circles...probably NOT the best idea after a FRIED lunch!
Next it was the Ferris Wheel. Sydney LOVED riding on the Ferris Wheel. It's a lot higher than you think once you get up there...and windy!
Now to the really fun part...well for me I guess. Oprah is filming a show there tomorrow and was actually there today as well. We first ran into her after she tried the Fried Butter (well we think at least...she was coming from that stand). Then we spotted her entourage again headed for the Ferris Wheel so we waited around and got a front row spot as she walked by. It was pretty cool!! Craig and my dad could have cared less but my mom and I thought it was pretty awesome!

Harper is 3 months old!
I'm a little late in posting this since my computer crashed, but Harper is 3 months old now and as cute as ever!! She smiles all the time now, giggles, rolls belly to back and back to belly. Sydney loves to make her smile and show her how to 'play' with all her toys. Some of Harper's favorite things right now are taking a bath, standing (assisted of course), playing on her activity mat and talking. She's precious and I'm so glad that I'm able to stay home with her to watch her grow up!!
