Harper brushes her teeth

Harper has 2 bottom teeth that are now fully in, and 2 top teeth that are just kind of in.  I decided it would be a good time to bring out the toothbrush and start brushing her pearly whites.  Harper LOVED it!  She gets so excited and starts squealing when you get out her toothbrush.  Oh, and she also loves rinsing off the toothbrush in the water!

Spring Creek Farm

This morning we met our sweet friends Becky and Brady at the Spring Creek Farm in Richardson.  Neither of us had been there before so we weren't exactly sure what was in store.  The first thing on our agenda was to feed the goats.  Sydney and Brady weren't too sure about this, but Harper seemed pretty thrilled.  She kept laughing at the goats and just thought it was the funniest thing.  After we fed the goats, we got to go on a good ol' fashioned hayride around the pond.  We saw geese, miniture ponies and longhorns.  Our tour guide, Joe, also told us there were 999,999 turtles in the pond but that they were all under the water and so that's why we couldn't see them.  After the hayride we saw some chickens and roosters.  Brady thought it was so cool each time one of the roosters crowed...and boy did they do it a lot!  And that was it.  Becky and I were laughing at the fact that the "Farm" was a little pathetic, but hey, the kids didn't know any different and they had a great time.  After all, that's all that matters right!?

Armed with her cup of feed!

This is the only way Sydney would even attempt to feed the goats

Cool treat on a Hot day

What could be better than a cold popsicle after a long hot walk/tricycle ride??

Learning to use scissors

Sydney has been doing really well lately with her child safety scissors so I allowed her to use some of my craft scissors one day to practice her cutting.  She thought it was such a fun thing to do and it kept her busy for such a long time.  Mostly she just cuts random bits of paper, but every once in a while, she'll cut something out that actually looks like something real and she gets really excited.

She told me the one on the left is an L and the one on the right is a giraffe!

A bath in the sink

Harper wasn't feeling well last week so we were homebound most of the time.  I felt bad for her because I knew she was starting to get bored with just playing with toys so I decided to fill up the kitchen sink and let her have a new kind of bath.  She loved turning the water off and on and filling up her cup.  I love when something so simple brings so much joy!

A fun game...

Sydney thought it would be a great idea one day to pull Harper around the house on this blanket.  Believe it or not, Harper agreed and just laughed and laughed while Sydney pulled her around.  The only problem was that Sydney then wanted Harper to pull her!  :)

A Dora umbrella

Sydney has been dying to get her own umbrella for a while now.  She would see them at Wal-Mart and ask me everytime if she could have one.  Every time I would say, maybe next time.  Well one day, Craig was with us at Wal-Mart and she asked again if she could have the umbrella and guess what...daddy said YES!  (she's got him wrapped around her little finger).  You would have thought we bought her a new car or something.  She plays with it inside, outside, everywhere.  The only problem was, it wasn't raining.  Finally one day it started to rain so I told her she could go outside with her rain boots and her Dora umbrella.  She was pumped.  She splashed and played and had a great time!

A date with daddy

For Father's Day this year, I decided to let Sydney choose a place that she would like to go on a date with Daddy.  I gave her the option of lunch, a movie or a baseball game.  She chose the baseball game and it just so happened that the Texas Rangers were playing the Houston Astros (Craig's team) the following weekend.  I bought some tickets - cheap since I knew there was the chance Sydney wouldn't last the whole game - and made a basket filled with baseball goodies.  We found Cracker Jacks, Big League Chew, sunflower seeds, and some other candy that Sydney just happened to like and pick out.  A couple of days before Father's Day, Craig and I were out to dinner when he tells me that a co-worker was going to give him some awesome tickets to the Rangers-Astros game on Sunday (the same night our tickets were for...my not-so-great seat tickets).  Well of course he read my expression and KNEW that's what my gift was for Father's Day.  Oh well, I wasn't out a lot of money and I knew he'd have more fun in his great seats.  Since there were 4 tickets given to him, I suggested asking Chris Kouba (also a die hard Astros fan) and Katelyn to go along.  The girls were so excited!  The guys brought along treat, suckers, and Capri Suns for the girls to keep them interested.  Well, it didn't really work but they at least lasted until the 7th inning and then headed out.  Not much of a loss since the Astros were getting killed.  I like this idea of a date with daddy though so we might try to come up with something new each year!

Ready to go!
